Invisalign in Syracuse, Ogden & Salt Lake City

All About Clear Aligners

Clear aligner treatment (like Invisalign®) with Dr. Coleman and his talented team at Coleman Orthodontics can give you straight, beautiful and healthy teeth without braces, brackets, or wires.

The Clear Aligner Process

Clear aligners like the Invisalign system use a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you're wearing. They let Dr. Coleman straighten your teeth, so you can smile more during treatment as well as after.

Invisalign is made with 3D computer imaging technology and has been proven effective. More than 70% of orthodontists in the US and Canada are certified to treat with Invisalign.

Invisalign aligners are much more comfortable than traditional metal bracket braces and can still give you stunning results, if you live around Syracuse, Ogden or Salt Lake City. In fact, Dr. Coleman is a Certified Preferred Invisalign® Provider. That means he has a ton of experience helping people like you.

At your initial consultation at Coleman Orthodontics, we'll use high-tech digital scans and X-rays to create a 3D image of your mouth. We make your first set of custom-fitted aligners from these images, and then you begin the process of straightening your teeth.

Barring extreme cases, you'll likely wear your Invisalign aligners for 9-15 months, and will typically use 18-30 sets throughout the course of your treatment.

You wear the trays for about 22 hours a day but can take them out to brush your teeth and eat. Based on your individual needs, and the treatment plan put in place by Dr. Coleman, you'll wear several sets of trays throughout your orthodontic treatment. You'll even start to notice a change in just a few months!

Differences Between Invisalign & Braces

Not only are clear aligners invisible, but they're removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem.

They're also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. And no metal and wires usually mean you spend less time our Coleman Orthodontics office getting adjustments.

Clear aligners also will let Dr. Coleman show you your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

Unlike traditional braces, smooth plastic clear aligners don't have metal components that can irritate your mouth.

A Modern Approach to Orthodontic Treatment

You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move - little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the final position Dr. Coleman has prescribed.

You'll visit Dr. Coleman about once every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.

Wearing the aligners will gently move your teeth into place little by little, based on the exact movements Dr. Coleman plan for you to minimize both treatment duration and soreness without compromising effectiveness.
